Hello!
My name is Milan and I'm part of the class of 2023. While I've loved swimming for as long as I remember, I only started doing it competitively a few years ago. Starting later in life forced me to learn and adapt to instructions quickly so that I could catch up to my more experienced peers. These skills have aided me greatly in both my swimming and academics.
Outside of the pool, I balance my swim schedule with academics and other extracurriculars. I play the cello and bass in my school's jazz choir and orchestra, Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra, and Seattle Youth Conservatory. At school, classes are predetermined, meaning that all juniors take 5-6 AP classes (I take 6.) I'm also part of 5 honors society and the vice president of my school's Math Honors Society. Balancing a heavy course-load with extracurriculars is challenging, but I've found that the diligence and resilience that swimming has instilled in me has made it manageable.
Overall, while I'm excited to continue pursuing swimming in college, academics remain my top priority. I'm open to any division if I feel the school is a good fit for me and my goals :)
