I have been swimming with the club swim team in our city (Tri City Channel Cats) for 5 years. This year I am also swimming for High School. I LOVE swimming! it is my happy place! This year, in addition to swimming, I am taking honors Language Arts, Concert Band where I play the clarinet, and am getting involved in the German Club since I am in German 2 (I took German 1 in 8th grade). For Concert Band, I get to play at football games, local parades and even a music festival this year. As part of the German club, we will be talking with native German speakers, cooking authentic German meals, and this summer, we will be taking a trip to Germany and Austria to learn more about German history and culture. In two years when I am a Junior, I want to participate in the Running Start program at the local college. If I work hard, this will allow me to earn my AA degree at the same time I graduate from high school.
When I graduate high school and go to college, I want to continue participating in band and German courses. I want to get a BS degree in Food Science and become a registered Dietician so I can help other athletes become their best self. I also want to help kids who need to eat better make healthier choices when eating.
I think I am a good candidate because I have a lot of goals and plans for the future, I work very hard to get good grades, and push myself by taking harder classes. I work hard in swimming and try to continually improve on my times and stroke form. I am also a good teammate and support others on my teams to help them get better as well.
