My name is Olivia Weil and I am a 2022 student athlete from Cedarburg High School. I feel most at home when I’m in the water. No other sport (dance, gymnastics, soccer, softball, or volleyball) stuck like swimming. Despite the disruptions caused by the pandemic, I earned personal bests in my distance free and breaststroke events and even bumped my GPA up a tad to a 3.865.
My goal is to continue my education and swim career in college. I am looking for a medium to large college that offers degrees in one or more of the following: food science, nutrition, math and statistics, or special education. My greatest strength is a strong work ethic. I work just as hard in the pool as I do in the classroom. My favorite part of swimming is the close bond that forms between teammates so I am hoping to find a swim program with a family-like atmosphere.
Swimming is a huge part of my life (I’ve been swimming since age four), but I try to make time for other things. When I’m not training or studying, I work as a lifeguard and teach swim lessons. Volunteering as a peer tutor in math and as a special olympics coach is one way to connect with people outside of swimming. As a way to spend more time in the pool with my swim family I helped start a water polo club at my high school. In my free time I enjoy cooking, playing games, and a variety of outdoor activities.
