Personal Statement

My name is Shaelyn Rutta and I am currently a senior at Oconomowoc High School in Oconomowoc WI. Swimming has been a part of my life since I was 8 years old and is what has impacted and shaped me into the person I am today. I have learned that the effort you put into something, is what you get out of it. Every practice is an opportunity to improve upon my skills so I make the most of it. Swimming has taught me to have a strong and competitve mentality in both practices and meets, as well as in academics. It has also taught me to be balanced both athletically and academically. I have swam at the State level in Club nearly every single year in short course and long course since I was 8. I currently hold 4 individual team records at the YMCA @ Pabst Farms and 3 relay team records for Oconomowoc High School. All of thoes records mean so much to me as I worked hard for hours to reach a goal of being able to call them mine. I am also proud to have had the opportunity to represent the State of Wisconsin at multiple Central Zone swim meets in Topeka, Kansas and Minneapolis, Minnesota.

My goal after High School is to find a college to academically pursue a a career in Aviation Flight and to be part of a competitive college swim team.  Here I can thrive with new friends, have fun, and truly experience life in college while working hard in everything I do!

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
