I love tennis. I have been playing since I was six years old. It is my dream to play college tennis. Coming from a small town on the Mexican border in southern Arizona, competing at major tournaments and achieving a high USTA ranking has been a challenge. I am the oldest of four kids, all of us athletes. It has been difficult for my parents financially and logistically to get me to tennis tournaments. I have been Number One on my high school tennis team since my Freshman year. I have led my team to the State Semi-Finals both my Freshman and Sophomore years. Indivudually, as a Freshman I lost in the State Quarterfinals, and as a Sophomore I also lost in the Quarterfinals.. Both years I was selected first team all conference, and my sophomore year I was named All-State. I am training extra hard to improve my results at state. I push myself just as hard in the classroom as I do on the tennis court. I am an honor student and am in the top 15% of my class. Currently my parents are making every effort to help me achieve my dream. We commute two hours three to four times a week to Tucson so I can attend the Ron Smith Tennis Academy. I am fully committed to doing everything I can do to play at the college level.
