My name is Danielle Symonds, and I am a dedicated student-athlete with a deep passion for tennis. My journey in this sport has been one of perseverance, growth, and unwavering determination. While my love for tennis didn't blossom overnight, it has become an integral part of my identity—a testament to the values of hard work, resilience, and self-improvement that I hold dear.

I first tried tennis in fourth grade, but it wasn't until my middle school years that I truly began to embrace the sport. By the time I reached high school, I faced setbacks that could have discouraged me, but they only fueled my resolve to improve. In 10th grade, I struggled through a challenging season, winning just two matches. Instead of giving up, I chose to channel my energy into growth by attending a three-week summer tennis academy. This experience not only enhanced my skills but also strengthened my mental approach to the game.

In my junior year, my efforts paid off as I improved to a 6-8 record. Now, as I approach my final year at Van Buren High School, I am committed to giving my all. My routine includes two private tennis lessons per week and consistent workouts to hone my physical and technical abilities. Tennis has taught me the value of resilience and the importance of learning from mistakes—qualities that I carry both on and off the court.

Beyond my dedication to tennis, I am passionate about academics and fostering strong relationships with teammates and mentors. I believe that my ability to face challenges head-on, work diligently, and maintain a positive attitude makes me an asset to any college program. I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to a team, grow as an athlete, and pursue my academic goals in a supportive and competitive environment.
