Hello, I hope you are doing well. My name is Ifeoma Ibe, and I am an 18-year-old deaf girl. I have been playing tennis since I was six years old, but I only started competing last year. Despite the fact that my tennis path is unique and unlike that of other athletes, particularly those who play D1, I remain passionate about the sport. Tennis is a vital component of my identity, and I hope to continue playing in college. I've been playing for so long that I don't want to quit without a proper ending.
Every day I am on the court, I strive to improve and pay close attention to my trainers since they know what is best for me. I want to prove to my future team that I am dedicated to the sport and will battle for every point, even on my bad days. I discovered that the only way for me to win big is to lose big. I prioritize both my studies and tennis because I want to be the best possible version of myself when I begin my college career. I want to discover myself, broaden my wings, and pursue opportunities. I don't want my impairment to limit my opportunities; instead, I want to make the impossible attainable.
