*updated 04/19/19: I have played 11 matches this season and am undefeated. See my MaxPreps results here: https://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/kate-hovatter/drQdduIzEeW-8KA2nzwbTA/default.htm (its says Boys Tennis but we are co-ed) I am looking forward to League and Section playoffs which begin next week. Stay tuned! I am a very motivated athlete and student. I played soccer for 9+ years. During my Sophomore year, soccer moved from a Spring sport to a Winter sport. The tennis coach asked if I wanted to play tennis. I tried it for the first time and worked my way to the number 4 spot on the Varsity team playing doubles. My Junior year I continued to work hard to improve my game. The first game of the season I was the number 2 singles player (winning 6-0, 6-0). I challenged the number 1 player on my team and won. I played as the number 1 singles player the rest of the season and was undefeated during the regular season. I was league champion and I was voted MVP by the coaches of the Motherlode League. While I am still a new player I continue to work on my game as I know I can always improve. I have determination which can be seen during my 3+ hour rallies during tournaments. I love tennis and want to play during college.
