Amaya Rollins '25 Recruiting Profile

I am from the small island of Bermuda, currently in my senior year at IMG Academy, Florida. I have been playing tennis for six (6) years.  Over the years, I learned that it takes commitment, discipline, and resilience to succeed and this has transferred to my academics keeping me grounded and focused. These characteristics are important as I plan to pursue a Business degree. Balancing academics and athletics taught me invaluable time management and leadership skills. I am confident that the discipline and dedication that I have developed on the court will serve me well in my future endeavors.   

I had the opportunity to attend two tennis camps at IMG Academy and enjoyed it so much that I had to attend the academy. For the past two years at IMG, my journey as a tennis player has been transformative regarding technical growth and mental toughness.   What started as an after-school activity has developed into a driving force that has shaped me both on and off the court.  This progress has led to noticeable improvements in my game.  Whether it’s battling from a set down or overcoming nerves in a crucial tiebreaker, I have been able to use my variety of strokes to maintain my composure in high-stakes matches.  Tennis has taught me the value of patience, continuous self-improvement, perseverance, and learning from setbacks and victories.

At the ages of fifteen (15) and sixteen (16), I was privileged to have been chosen to represent my country in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Billie Jean King Cup in 2022 and 2023, in the Dominican Republic and Panama respectively. My doubles partner Shelby Madeiros, a graduate of Sienna College, and I won our match (6-4, 6-3) in Panama 2023.
