As the eldest of three children I always regarded myself as a pioneer. Studying in the US will make me not just a pioneer amongst my siblings but a pioneer for the broader family. Since primary school sport has been my number one extra curricular love and I was sportgirl of the year for 4 years running competing in multiple sports tennis, hockey, triathlon, athletics and netball. When I joined high school I realized that due to the additional academic work load I would have to focus more. It was easy to choose tennis as it always was my first love. While sport is important to me it does not define me and I have always been a bit of a bookwurm as well. Mostly reading fictional novels as I enjoy the escape from reality. It is important for me to balance academics with the rest of my life and I am fortunate enough to be in the top 10% of my class. My goal is to be the best I can be as a tennis player while still obtaining a degree that will stand me in good stead later in life. While I am not exactly sure about my majors yet both human science or business science degrees are appealing to me at this point in time. Although tennis is an individual sport one of my strengths is that I am a good team member.
