Personal Statement
I am a 5'2" singles player from Jackson, MI and will graduate in the class of 2014. I play in many USTA tournaments in my off season and hit three to four times a week. I also train and work on my fitness two to three times a week. In my past season, as a freshman, I earned a spot on the All-Area Dream Team, the All-Conference Team, and was awarded with the All-Academic Conference Award. I was seeded first at my Regional Tournament and came in second place, and I was seeded third at my State Tournament and made it to the quarterfinals. I am a very hardworking athlete and student. I usually am the first one to arrive at practice and the last one to leave. It has been one of my biggest goals to play tennis at the college level.
Ideally, I would prefer to be at a larger school, but I wouldn't mind attending a college that is of smaller size. I'm most interested in attending a college in the Midwest or on the East Coast. I would like a college that has good academic and athletic programs, but I am open to many different schools. My realistic athletic goals would be to play on the highest level of competition possible and to make a positive impact on a team. I plan to keep working hard in the classroom and on the court to achieve my dream of playing college tennis.
