Personal Statement
Hi, my name is McKenna DeMarce and I am from Las Vegas, Nevada. For the last nine years I have been playing competitive tennis. I enjoy playing both singles and doubles. I played Varsity tennis my freshman and sophomore year at Desert Oasis High School. Both of these years I played the number one spot and broke two school records. My junior year I was not able to play high school tennis because of COVID-19 restrictions. I also play in many USTA and UTR tournaments throughout the Intermountain Region. Along with tennis, I ran track my freshman year. I went to regionals for the 400 and 800 race. I also went all the way to state with my 4x800 relay team. My sophomore track season got cut because of COVID-19. Not only did I run track and play tennis for my school, I also was on the bowling team my sophomore year. Outside of athletics, I have been a part of Student Council since 4th grade. Student Council has provided me with many leadership opportunities, both in school and in the community. I also volunteer at the Special Olympics every year where I help the participating athletes. Along with that, I help coach younger teams that are a part of my club facility, Passion Tennis. I take academics very seriously and have worked hard to maintain my 4.475 weighted GPA and 4.0 unweighted GPA.
