Hi! My name is Ariana Salgueiro, and I am from San Juan Puerto Rico. I am currently a Senior, Class of 2020 in Robinson School.
Outside of school I dedicate all my efforts to tennis and training. I was captain of the Puerto Rico Junior Fed Cup team in 2017 at El Salvador. I was also part of the Intersectional and Zonal teams for 2 consecutive years. I love travelling and playing with my team. Cheering on for my teammates and helping them with strategies before matches is one of the favorite things to do. Besides the team tournaments, I have also played ITF Tournaments where in 2017, I won the THA/B Mobile Tobago Jr ITF Doubles title and was the doubles runner-up for the Cayman Cup ITF. In 2018, I won the ITFJunior De Saint -Francois Guadeloupe Doubles title and was the doublesrunner-up at the Puerto Rico Bowl ITF and at the Tobago Jr. ITF Championships. I specialize in doubles, I like having a teammate with me in court and the chemistry that is needed for a successful doubles match. A team to me defines a family outside of home, that consists of hard work, memories, chemistry, and most importantly trust.
In my personal life I am a daughter, a big sister, a helper, and a caring friend. When I am not at school or playing tennis, I try to help others to the best of my abilities. In my free time I help my brother out with his homework, go to the beach, the movies, and enjoy spending time with family and friends. My weekends mostly consist of tournaments or MUN competitions, but whenever I have free time, I try to spend it with those who matter most. I also love meeting new people and making new friends. During the trips I have had because of tennis, I’ve had the opportunity to meet people from around the world allowing me to further expand my global mindset.
At School, I demonstrate character, aptitude, and passion. In addition to actively participating in my school’s community service activities. I am passionate about the sciences: biology, chemistry, environmental science, and physics. I just love all of it! I believe education is everything! There is nothing better than to sit down at a table and be able to talk thoroughly about a subject with adults without getting lost. As well, as helping others with the work they do not understand, being able to have the knowledge to help others is powerful and important. To summarize, I am a 3.8 GPA student-athlete who is part of the National Honor Society and Model United Nations, is an Ex Junior Fed Cup team player as well as a daughter and a big sister.
