Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my profile. My name is Amy Smith, and I am a current junior at Prosper High School, in Prosper, TX. I am extremely interested in continuing my love for the game of tennis at the collegiate level. I am currently training the the McKinney Courts in McKinney, TX under the coaching of Coach Dave Miller and Coach Matt Hamlin. I train for both singles and doubles, to prepare me for whichever my coaches at school need me to play. I am extremely competitive, and love playing singles, but also like playing as a team on the court. I am always working on my footwork, which I always think I need to improve on, and feel that I am a very good offensive player, and know how to control the point from the start of the match. I also am a strong defensive player, because I work on my consistency all the time with my coaches. I am in the graduating class of 2016. I have played on my varsity team since freshman year, and plan on playing until senior year. Freshman and sophomore year, I played #2 and #1 doubles, respectively, and this current year I am playing #2 singles. I am currently ranked #4 on my varsity ladder. I play every day with my school team, and go to private practice every other day. Balancing my commitment to tennis, yearbook, health science classes, freshmen mentoring, and AP classes has been hard, but I have managed to maintain a 3.7 weighted GPA. I understand first hand the difficulty of being a student-athlete, and plan on keeping my priorities in line at the collegiate level as well.
