Personal Statement
As a three-sport varsity level athlete who has experienced success in three (3)sports (i.e., tennis, basketball, and soccer) since my freshman year, I have a clear understanding of the discipline, commitment, and physical and mental training it takes to excel. In addition to having a busy life as a three-sport athlete, I have maintained a high GPA with AP curriculum, and share in the appreciation of the arts as a piano student for the past 9 years. Most recently, I have been accepted into the National Honor Society and voted class President where I will continue sharing my service with my school and community.
As a freshman playing Varsity Soccer I had a successful season scoring 27 goals and helping my team reach sectionals in the playoffs. I am continuing that success this year with over 30 goals. In basketball, I am tasked with defending the opponent’s best player each game. With hard work I became a starter Sophomore year, and my team became conference champions.
Tennis is simply the sport I love! I started playing tennis a little later in 7th grade. As I found success in middle school, my passion for tennis grew. Thereafter, I have focused both on and off the court and have grown my skills exponentially. As a freshman, I qualified for the individual state tennis tournament in Wisconsin ultimately losing in the second round. As a sophomore, I continued to grow and was successful in reaching my goals as Mississippi Valley Conference player of the year, 1st team all-conference and once again reaching the state tennis tournament. As a singles player in an individual sport, I have learned to work independently and appreciate standing on my own 2 feet to reach the outcome I strive to achieve. I am going to continue to put in the necessary time and sacrifices to ultimately reach my goal as a member of a collegiate tennis team.
