Personal Statement
I plan to be a contributing team member for either a very strong NAIA school, DII, or a DI school. I have been training intensely daily and have a very dedicated work ethic. My work ethic extends to my academics, I believe that growth and learning are essential to forming goals. My coarse loads are the highest that our school offers, and I plan to graduate with an IB Diploma in addition to my traditional high school diploma. I am intrinsically motivated, and gain inspiration from running up our local mountains year around with my dog Bruce. Trail and mountain racing are a summer challenge that let me learn and train with people from all around Alaska, and a wide variety of ages.
I am a perfect candidate for your team simply because my potential is unknown. I have had a new coach every season in high school, none with experience in mid/long-distance. With a knowledgable coach, and hard-working team environment, coupled with my drive to keeping pushing and growing, I will be a valuable asset to your team.
I continue to train and see gains throughout the COVID closure. Pushing the the disappointment of missing my track season and the summer's mountain racing schedule has me more resolved than ever to see my goals through. I am an athlete with untapped potential who trains very hard and I am an excellent student.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions,
I look forward to talking you.
