My Name is Ann Lucy Dangha. I was born in West Africa Sierra Leone, I started running track around the age of 5years old. I never had the opportunity to run on a real track until i came to the U.S. around the age of 8 years old. I countinued running track again in 6th grade after trying out for the team. I was undefeated in middle school for two years, after moving to another school. Now that am in High school, i never thought i would make the team or come this far. Track has been the number one sports in my life. People doubted and discouraged me , but my passion and goal told me not to keep moving foward and belive in my goal and dreams. Track has inspired me in doing great things for me and my country. My number one goal in life is to make it to the olympics or even have the opportunity to, because not many people have the courage or talent. I am a good candidate for any college team because i am determined, hard working, inspired, driven, competitive, focus, commitment, and have a great mentality. I just want to be out there and show the world what i can do, make my coaches proud, inspire young athletics out there like me and,put a smile on everyone face. Am different from other recruits because i put my heart and soul into what i love, which is track. Everytime i see great athletics like Allyson Felix, and Sanya Richardson out there running on tv, reciveing medals for there great accomplishments i just wish to be out there with them. My mother use to always tell me,''you don't want to be like them, but you want to beat them, because great athletics don't wish to become other athletics but wish to compete like them.'' My character as an athlete is very competitive. When i step foot on that track, nothing else matter but crossing that finish line. As for my academics skills, i am very focus on my education and studies. Sometimes its hard being an athlete and a student, but student comes before athlete so therefore getting my education is number one.
