Serena Duenas '19 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Serena Duenas and I run cross country and track for Alhambra High School in California. I love running, enjoy competing in races, and I am a team player. I strive to run my best at every race and I inspire my team to do the same. As captain of my team in my junior year, I inspired my team to run their best by giving them encouragement and by setting a good example, leading the team to win Girls Varsity League Champs for the first time in the history of the school. I have met my running goals every season in high school and I am looking forward to achieving my running goals this upcoming season in my senior year. In my high school career, up to this point, I have been awarded Freshman Athlete of the Year,  Most Inspirational Runner, and for three years Most Valuable Athlete. The Alhambra Unified School District Board of Education honored me with the Girls Cross Country - Individual League Championship Award for Outstanding Achievement, Dedication, and Distinguished Performance.

Academically, I am proud to be a member of the National Honor Society of High School Scholars. I work hard and I am always challenging myself to excel.

I am seeking a college that is the right fit for me. I will be pursuing a career in the medical field and I am looking to attend a college that offers a great biology program. I am also seeking a cross country and track collegiate team where I can be challenged to continue to thrive as an elite athlete for myself, my team, and my school.
