Christiana Kvitek '24 Recruiting Profile

I am a Junior at Carmel High School, planning my future as a college track athlete and scholar.  As a high school student, I have greatly enjoyed training and competing in both Cross Country and Track and Field events, and I am currently training for steeplechase events this summer.  Academically, I am especially interested in college programs and majors that will prepare me for a career in the field of Forensic Science, where I can take courses involving law and problem-solving. I am also interested in English as a major.

Participating in varsity sports each semester while taking rigorous honors classes, I have learned how to balance academics with sports, which I find demanding but a fulfilling challenge. After training hard on my own for over two years due to covid restrictions, this year’s in-person sophomore high school experience allowed me to make many friends and relearn how to interact with others as part of a functioning team. I found it hard at first to acclimate to the constant expectations and pressure that come with Varsity sports, but because I can quickly adapt to change and stress, I excelled in a harsh environment that many of my peers struggled with.

When I set my mind to something, I carry it out no matter what, and my adaptability gives me an advantage when it comes to harsh situations that require creative solutions and hard work. I enjoy a mix of intellectual and physical tests where I can stretch myself into a better athlete, student, teammate, and leader.
