I became interested in doing Track and Field the day I raced the 50m dash in elementary school. I won first place and that's when I first thought, "hey, I wanna do that again." Once I got to middle school my coach told me to try high jump and immediately after my first jump, she told me to stay. From that point on I have been high jumping, and doing a little bit of sprints here and there, since. Track is what I do, it is what I love, it is a big part of my life.
I stand out on and off the field due to my dedication and impassioned work ethic. What makes me different is that I challenge myself on the track and in the classroom equally. My life's aspirations is to not only be the best in everything I do, but to try my best in everything I do. Track and Field is a sport where I can reach and surpass this goal each and every day. Whether it's finding that last bit of energy to finish a workout or helping a teammate off the ground, I find it within me to be the best I can be.
