Personal Statement
Throughout my whole life I played basketball and was even the captain of the freshman team my first year of high school. My first year of high school I also decided to join the cross country and track team with no prior experience in either sport. Throughout both the track and cross country seasons I came to love running more than anything and wanted to focus entirely it. After a great track season and making it to the California Interscholastic Federation track prelims as a freshman I realized I wanted to stop playing basketball to pursue running. It was a hard decision to quit because I had played basketball my whole life, but I know I made the right choice. Running is what I love to do and I intend to focus on it and continue to try and reach my full potential.
On the academic side of things I want to continue getting a 4.0 GPA. When it comes to grades I have always been a perfectionist ever since elementary school until now. I want to continue on the honors track and have signed up for some APs. I have received many academic awards such as the Presidential Award and the Scholar Athlete award. I want to continue my academic journey and dive deeper into topics such as biology and chemistry. I find both those topics interesting because I like to know how the world works and why things happen. I see myself doing doing something in the math or science field in the future.
