I have been running competitively for over four years now. I love all sports. I have played club soccer since I was 8 years old (my primary position was defender) and played varsity as a freshman. I also played competitive basketball and softball for several years. Given my passion for running, I recently decided to stop playing all other competitive sports and focus exclusively on cross-country and track. I recently broke my school 3200 meter record, with a time of 10:28.9. My best mile time is 4:59.
Academically, I am a very good student. My current GPA is a 4.4 (on a 4.0 scale) with 2 honors classes (chemistry and algebra trig). I was presented with the Rotary Club Outstanding Student Award at the commencement ceremony from my middle school. I am a member of the National Honors Society.
I have assumed leadership roles in several activities including: 1) Captain of my club soccer team when we won the State Cup championship, 2) Captain of my High School Cross-Country team, 3) Captain of my High School Distance Track team, 4) President of the California Scholarship Federation at my High School.
My goal is to participate in track and cross-country at a competitive university. Given my commitment to running and school work, I feel I can make a significant contribution (both athletically and academically) at the college level.
