Personal Statement
I've been competing in track and field since the 6th grade. My passion for running began as a young child when I used to race with my dad in our front yard. I would love to take my passion for running and bring it to a collegiate level. I work hard, and as time has progressed I've learned to value and take advantage of my talent in running. I love to be a part of a team, and I am great at being a team leader. Some say that track is an individual sport, but I see it as team sport. Running down the track with your best friends by your side is a great feeling. Running in college, I will be able to work hard, and use my dedication to become a NCAA champion.
I love an academic challenge, and take challenging classes just to prepare myself for the next academic year to perform even better in school. Academics and athletics are my priorities, and I want to rise to the top in both categories. One of the reasons that I do track and field is to clear my mind, and relieve stress- which in effect helps me to perform better in school. If anybody-teachers, friends, family members, or coaches were to describe my personality they would say that I am friendly/approachable, caring, energetic, hardworking, and driven. You can find me coaching my local youth track team, volunteering at church organizations (or places in need), being a link leader at my high school, and a registered member of the HOBY leadership program.
