My name is Paula Danemann Soto and I am a rising senior at University City High School in San Diego, California. I am a dedicated student and track athlete seeking to further my athletic development by competing in the long jump in my college years. Moving from Ensenada, Mexico, a city with troubled athletic organization and low resources, to San Diego, in search of a more complete education and sports experience, not only am I an individual who highly values the process towards reaching my goals, but most importantly the opportunity to compete, well-aware that many are not as fortunate as to do so. Such perspective has propelled me in athletics and academics, bringing a sense of joy yet responsibility anytime I am working towards a result. My drive is constant in the classroom and on the runway, both places where I am able to channel my energy and motivation into a focused mindset. Just as I express my qualities in exams, club leadership, and research projects, I regard meets with the same importance and planification, utilizing my analytical thinking to optimize both my physical mental performance at the track.
