I'm a junior in high school and I’ve had 3 different Head Track & Field coaches in the past 3 years. My team and I walk on the track, put in the work all season long, leave for a couple weeks, only to find that the work has changed once again. The one thing that hasn't changed over the years is my work ethic and drive to improve. Whether it comes to my races or my academics I'm always seeking to better myself. Every time I hit a new PR, my competitive spirit is fueled and I’m reminded that running requires both mental and physical strength. It's literal proof that the hours of leg-burning, lung-flattening, muscle-cramping workouts all meant something….and that it's time to do it again.
The instability of my high school athletic career has only made me more adaptable to various coaching styles. I believe I'd be a great fit for a college roster because of my drive, determination and ability to work well with others. I hope to graduate college with a clear sense of how I can live my life doing something I love that’ll make me happy.
