Personal Statement
Running didn't factor heavily into my life until my freshman year of high school. Before that, I was busy chasing a ball on the soccer field for exercise and didn't enjoy running-- I even thought of it as a chore. However, running cross country my freshman year of high school changed my perspective on running and my future. Through running, I learned how to be a supportive teammate, a competent leader, a stronger person, and a student athlete. Along the way, I’ve learned to embrace the grind and look forward to the competition.
In my opinion, running is the best form of exercise because it connects you to a community of people that share your passion and allows you to test your mental and physical limits. My love for the sport is why I would love to continue to run in college while still obtaining a quality education.
