Sports have been a huge influence in my life. Ever since I was little, I was either flipping on the gymnastics floor or kicking the soccer balls. Not until I reached to high school did I try track. With my background of making varsity since freshman year in soccer and gymnastics, I excelled in track. I had great body control from gymnastics, and I had great endurance and speed from soccer. This made me not only great at the running events for track, but perfect for the hurdles. My friends said I was just a little crazy to try hurdle, but to love them. This love for hurdles has never faded, but only grown stronger; even after the many, many falls, fails, bruise and scrapes, I still get up and keep on.
I am psychically fit because of soccer and gymnastics, but I can also thank my character and mental state to them too. Through soccer, I learned teamwork and leadership because I was always one of the best on the team. Through gymnastics, I learned never to give up, and I learned how to fight against mental blocks. I have broken my wrist in gymnastics but I got back up and now since freshman year and sophomore year I was I have been going to state open for vault and beam. I know I was late to being track, just started track in my freshman year, but I have self-taught myself hurdles and know with coaching I can get much better.
