Personal Statement
My Goals are to become a orthopedic doctor and to continue doing great things in Track and Field. I also want to be successful and continue being fit for the rest of my life. I love running and can not imagine my life without it. I have learned valuable lessons from this sport. Its taught me to be a leader, to not give up when you don't get 1st place in every single event and to have fun. Track pushes me to the best of my ability which helps me push myself in school. I have the determination and drive to do well on the track and in school. Becoming a captain for track taught me how to be a leader. Knowing I have a meet or practice the next day and knowing I won't get home early stops my procrastination with my school work. Without time management I would not have a 4.0 GPA right now. Besides school work, to win a race is exciting of course but also just the feeling I get afterwards (runner's high). Track is all about your mental state. To do track you need a strong mental state, the drive and the love of the sport which is all of what I have so track is the foundation of my life.
