Personal Statement
Winning a state title in long jump, as a freshman and a junior, has so far been the highlight of my high school track and field career. While my stats for junior year in my main events are not an accurate representation of my abilities, I was able to improve in other areas. I fell in love with track at an early age, it gave me great satisfaction to be a leading contributor to my team's success. It is a misconception that track is an individual sport. I believe that strong work ethics and being a team player are essential in any and all things that you do.
I'm looking forward to continuing my education and competing at the next level. I hope to find a college that not only takes pride in developing their athletes, but also one that has academic programs and support for their student athletes. Track has helped shape me, both on and off the field. I have learned to become more disciplined, be a team player, and most importantly, learn from my mistakes.
My passion is T.R.A.C.K. and to me it stands for - timing, rhythm, attitude, confidence and knowledge.
