Ever since I was 5 years old, I knew I wanted to become a runner. My mom signed me up for open races and when I started middle school and I joined my school team. Making the varsity team in middle school has influenced me to be a leader and to have commitment. As a freshman making it to cross country and track states was the highlight of my running career. For track states me and my 4x800 team ran our school record and we medaled by placing 6th. I learned that hard work and dedication can help me improve in academics as well as running. My academic goals for high school are to have a GPA of 3.8 and to earn as many college credits as I can by taking AP classes. I hope to inspire my younger brother that with hard work, he can accomplish anything. When I was younger I found out I have scoliosis, it became an obstacle because I have had to wear a brace since I was 11 years old and this also made me want to work harder. This also made me stronger, and show that no matter what I can push through any obstacle that comes my way. When I am a senior, my goal is to become a team captain. I believe I have the leadership skills and devotion to make an impact on your program.
