Merileigh Camaret '20 Recruiting Profile

Throughout the years that I've done track and field, I have really learned what commitment and hard work mean; continuing to push through all the workouts to better myself. I enjoy putting in time, heart and effort in order to see my commitment pay off. This is why I hope to continue to do track through college. My family's encouragement has also motivated me. I grew up watching my amazing siblings succeed physically and academically and I strive to follow in their footsteps. I most enjoy pole vault and its detailed and challenging qualities. I have recently started competing in the heptathlon. I was interested because my coach has trained very successful multi-athletes and it is rewarding to know that I have done seven events in which I improve my score and personal records. Being part of a team is like a second family and I am excited to find a college team family away from home.
