Personal Statement
My goal this 2018 Track season was to significantly improve both my times in the 300 and 100 hurdles. At the conclusion of this season, I am proud to say that I improved my 100 hurdles time by 0.9 seconds and my 300 hurdles time by 7.31 seconds, with both of those times being new school records. While excited about my accomplishments this season, I look forward to continue improving in the upcoming indoor season.
One of my future goals is to run my own business once I finish College. Both of my parents run their own businesses so I have been living in that entrepreneurial environment for most of my life. I really enjoy working with other people (either in a team setting or through volunteer work) and try to incorporate that into my life as much as I can. I have run cross country from 6-10th grade and track and field from 6-now. For my 10th grade personal project last year I planned and hosted a 100 mile relay race at my school. This was the first organized track event at my school's new track. Through this I was able to raise over $8,000 in donations to go to the Thirst Project which goes towards building a water well in Swaziland, Africa. In the future I hope to use this to help create my own business/organization.
