Personal Statement
My dream was to be an amazing hurdler but I was turned down as soon as I started track because of my clumsiness and people told me it just wasn't meant to be yet they never gave me a chance to prove myself. 2 years later I decide I'm going to prove to my coaches and teammates I can do it so when my coach showed up to practice I set up a hurdle and said "watch this". Honestly I didn't know what I was doing just that I really wanted to do it so I wasn't going to accept not being able to do hurdles without even given a chance ,so I took a leap of faith. Everyone's hearts stopped when I ran up to the hurdle because they thought that was the end of my track career. Long story short I went to state for 300 hurdles that year with only weeks of practice. I don't let people bring me down I let them motivate me. I am taking this mindset with me into my junior and senior year not allowing anything hold me back academically or athletically ,so that I can reach my goals to graduate and set myself up for success in my college career.
