Personal Statement
I’m an extremely hard worker and I have always been able to overcome any obstacles thrown at me in order to reach my goals. I will always put my teammates first and I‘ll always work hard for them. The only thing I love more than running is watching my teammates run and cheering them on. I’m independent, I constantly push myself to my limits, and I put myself into challenging situations so I can grow and be the best version of myself, not just as an athlete, but as a teammate and a person. I have always had a strong passion for running and I strongly value the life lessons it's taught me. I’ve learned how to grind through difficult situations, shut out negative noise, and appreciate every day that I have the opportunity to wake up and run. Because I began running competitively later than most, I understood that I would need to work harder to reach my goals. I strongly believe in holding myself accountable and taking responsibility for my own performance- when it comes down to it, I’m the only one who can be held responsible for my times and this pushes me to work my hardest every single day. I love running and everything that comes along with it. Making the decision to run competitively changed my life and I am so grateful that I have had the opportunity to bring this into my life. I hope to continue my running journey into college and continue to grow as an athlete and a person.
