I have been running cross country and track for the past four years and am entering my senior year at Mary Persons High School in Forsyth, GA. I have won the Region 2AAAA championship two of the past three years and was the runner up my 10th grade year. I have also placed 3rd in the past three State Championship Cross Country meets. I am a compact runner (5’4”, 108) with versatility as I also have competed with our 4 X 400 relay team and run the 800m, 1600m and 3200m during track season and have competed at the State Track Meet for the past three years.
Since both of my parents are teachers, they have always stressed the importance of placing my focus of my academics before athletics. I am currently ranked in the top 5 of my graduating class and have received many academic awards that reflect my focus in the classroom. I scored 26 on my ACT and plan to re-take this test in September. My current GPA is 3.99/4.0 scale or 4.572 / 5.0 scale. I am also active in multiple clubs and extracurricular activities, including Spanish Honor Society, National Beta Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
I am looking for a university where I can make an impact on the team and contribute to its overall success. I believe that a competitive program where I can challenge myself and reach my full potential in athletics as well as academics is the best fit for me. I plan to earn a degree in a scientific field of study which would assist me into getting into Veterinarian School. I have looked into options such as Kinesiology and Animal Science. I would also like to minor in Spanish.
