Since I began running, I have put everything I have into it. In all aspects of my life, I believe discipline is the key to success, and I strive to demonstrate this in my running.

Freshman Year XC:
I had not formally raced before my Freshman year in high school, but as soon as I began, I jumped into it with vigor. I became the OIA Eastern Divisional Champion, and then the OIA JV Champion in my first Cross Country Season, and went on to place 6th in Varsity Championships and 14th in State Championships.
Freshman Year Track:
Bringing that same energy to Track and Field, I began my season by running the 1500m and the 3000m races. I competed in JV up until JV Championships, where I secured 1st place -and the title of JV Girls Champion- for both the 1500m and 3000m races.
Moving to Varsity Track in my Freshman year, I competed in the 1500m and 3000m races in OIA Varsity Championships, coming in at 2nd place in the 1500m with a time of 5:06.7, and 2nd in the 3000m race with a time of 11:02.62.
During states in my Freshman year I moved onto Finals in both the 1500m and 3000m, and raced a time of 5:04.54 in the 1500m, placing 7th in state, and 11:04.25 in the 3000m race, placing 2nd in the state.
Sophomore Year XC:
In my Cross Country Sophomore season, I continued improving my times, dropping over a minute and fifteen seconds from my freshman year time on the course for states, and achieving a new 5K PR of 20:15. I placed 2nd in Varsity Eastern Champs, 5th in Varsity Championships, and 9th in State Championships.
Sophomore Year Track:
In my Sophomore Track season, I continued aiming high, and achieved a new PR in my 3000m- 10:52.72.
As Championship season began, I raced Varsity Eastern Championships on 04/27, winning the title of Girls OIA Varsity Eastern 1500m and 3000m Champion.
I also raced the 4x800, running the fastest leg on my team and the fastest starting 800 in the race, (My coach timed me at 2:33), securing a second place finish for my team. Myself and my team's hard efforts secured Kalaheo the title of the Girls Varsity Eastern Divisional Team Champions for 2024.
I am incredibly proud of my running, and it is something I want to continue to strive for improvement in. As my Sophomore season continues, I hope to improve my times in both the 1500m and the 3000m, and continue to demonstrate hard work and dedication to my team, which was acknowledged by my appointment as a Varsity Captain of Kalaheo Track & Field and Kalaheo Cross Country during my sophomore year.
My belief in discipline and excellence doesn't stop on the track, I carry it into all aspects of my life. I am a dedicated musician, and I play both violin and piano, the former of which I have been playing since third grade. I am an excellent student, and maintain straight A's in my honors classes, as well as my AP courses.
I also have many interests outside of running and school, my interest in politics led me to start a Model UN club at my school in my freshman year, which I have maintained. As club president I show leadership within the club- planning meetings and training members to attend MUN conferences. I am also a member of my school's National Honors Society, Debate Club, Newspaper Club, Student Senate, and Student Council.
I strive to extend my experiences beyond my school as well, through programs and activities like the William S. Richardson School of Law Program, the Honolulu Marathon, the Pacific Music Institute violin program, and personal projects such as writing testimony for Hawaii Senate bills.
My ultimate goals are to improve myself as much as I possibly can, to leave no potential unfulfilled, and with that, to improve the people, programs, and communities around me.
