Hi, I'm Alex I'm 18 years old. I've been playing basketball and competing in track since my freshman year. I've tried and practiced nearly every event in track (throwing, sprinting, jumping, hurdles, and pole vault) but fell back to the discus and shot put throws every time. I started my sports career in my freshman year of basketball, 3 years later after hardly touching a basketball I moved up to the Varsity level in our program. I have competed in throws in the Idaho 4A state competition since my sophomore year, placing 7th in dicus as a junior. That being said, I'm a very coachable and adaptable athlete and can take advice and criticism very well to improve my performance. I hope to continue doing so and improving my throwing distances at the college level.
I love competing, both in sports and academics. I've maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout my high school career, and pride myself in the work that I present and turn in, and I plan to continue that reputation through the rest of my academics in the future. I hope to throw discus, shot put, and javelin at the collegiate level, while also pursuing a career as a professional pilot! I will have my private pilot license in July, and I'm very excited about what the future holds academically and athletically.
