Personal Statement
Hi! My name is Kassidy. I love to bake, read, ski, swim and run. I began running cross country and track competitively in junior high. In high school I have run varsity for the last two years. As a freshman I ran as our cross country team's number three runner and placed eighteen at state. Our team placed fourth. Entering this season I have moved into the number one spot after working hard in the off season. I also earned the designation of District Champion as well as placing 2nd at State this year. Our team placed second. During my freshman year I ran the 800, 1600, and 3200 consistently during track season. I placed second in both the 1600 and 3200 at districts. I was honored to compete at state for a second time my freshman year. I have done extensive research on nutrition, wellness, and fitness specific to runners. I used this knowledge to create a program for myself that has resulted in a more fit me!
It has always been a dream of mine to run in college! Once in college, my plan is to earn a bachelor's degree in pre-med before continuing onto a master's in nutrition, kinesiology, or physical therapy. I have begun the journey of improving my health & wellness and would love to assist other's in their journey also.
My favorite thing about cross country is my team's chemistry and family atmosphere! We all support and encourage each other! I hope that if I do run in college, that my team would be just as welcoming. My leadership has been shown during workouts, stretches, and other activities we preform together. I make sure everyone is staying on task, working hard while encouraging teammates to strive for their best effort and always staying positive!
My dedication has been proven both on and off the track. In the classroom I maintain a 4.17 gpa while taking honors classes. One of my dreams for high school is to be valedictorian upon graduation. During the off season I can be found lifting, stretching or running the snowy trails around our school with other members of my team.
