Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Jeneau McClain. I am a young 17-year-old African American female born and partially raised in the state of Illinois. When I was 10 years old, my family and I moved to New Jersey. Growing up there I was exposed to a different type of lifestyle. Before then I was never interested in sports until one day I was exposed to Basketball. I found out I didn’t have as much potential in that sport and I outgrew from it. It was until the 6th grade when my eyes were opened to the amazing sport of Track & Field. I had finally found something that I was passionate about and knew I was good at.
I not only have a passion for this sport, but I also have a passion in singing, writing, and modeling. In my free time I enjoy being around my family & friends and spending time with them. I am also a believer in Christ and I love to go to church every Sunday. I am a very caring person and I have participated in some of the events they have, such as Feed My Starving Children. Furthermore, I have attended two schools throughout my high school career; Plainfield South Highschool & Plainfield North. In school I hold a 3.7 GPA and feel as though I am a dedicated and focused student in & out of the classroom. Outside of school I’ve participated in multiple clubs such as Teen Achievers, Student Council, & African American Club. I would appreciate the opportunity to be considered for the opportunity to attend your college or University.
