Personal Statement
Breaking the Illinois State shot put record in seventh grade made me realize I could possibly go somewhere in the track and field world. From that day on, I have been working toward my goal of continuing my throwing career after high school by giving my all, not only during track practice, but in the classroom as well. I truly enjoy throwing and stay an extra hour almost every day after practice to ensure that I am performing to the best of my ability. However, I still am committed to my study time, as evidenced by my GPA of 11.85 on a 12 point scale.
I intend to go to a strong academic college with an equally strong track program. I am looking forward to learning from a throws coach about ways to improve my training and technique. My hope is to contribute to a positive atmosphere in which my teammates and I encourage each other to succeed in athletics, academics, and life in general.
