Personal Statement
I have been running since I was little. I grew up in a family of runners, and distance running has always been a passion of mine. I remember being so excited when I entered junior high because I could finally join track and field. Before track, I did road races-but road races don't give me the kind of adrenaline rush that track and cross country do.
As I'm currently running my third year of cross country and going on to my sixth year of track, I've realized I'm not ready to let the team aspect go. I'm also not ready to stop racing competitively. When being a part of a team, everyone becomes a family. I love to be able to work with my teammates and push each other. I love being able to push myself and achieve goals, then make new goals to work for. I believe I would be a good candidate for your team because of my drive to work hard and my motivation for the sport(s). I'm not one to give up easily, and I can assure you that I will always give my 110%.
Not only will I give my 110% in practices and during races, but I'll also give my 110% in the classroom. Academics are a major priority of mine. I always try to get the best grades possible and I like to make sure I understand everything thoroughly. Having high grades are really important to me, and I'm maintaining a high GPA (3.9/4.0). For college, I'm interested in majoring in Kinesiology/Exercise Science. In school, I'm also involved in FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) which makes me become involved within the community throughout the school year.
