Personal Statement
I would like to run in college because running is my passion. I've been running track since fifth grade and cross country since eighth grade. Since my running career started I have always been putting in hard work to improve my times and be a leader on my teams. Even as the underdog I always made sure that I worked hard to prove my passion and dedication for running. As a freshman I advanced individually to Regional in both track (400) and cross country. As a sophomore I advanced individually to Semi-Sate in cross county, being the first to advance since Claudia Monnett. Also as a sophomore I advanced individually (400) and with two relay teams (4x800 and 4x400) to Regional in track and my 4x800 team broke the school record (10:23.18, 2017). As a junior I advanced individually to Semi-State in cross country and broke the school record (20:17, 2017). Also as a junior I advanced individually to Regional in track and I also broke Claudia Monnett's record in the 800 (2:28, 2015) my new record was 2:27 which I re-broke, the new record being 2:24. All in all I love running it is my escape and has become a huge part of life. Sports has taught me so many life skills that I plan on taking with me in to my future.
