Personal Statement

Hello,

My name is Hannah Wells and I am currently a senior at Cardinal Ritter High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. I run cross country and track and field.  These are my two primary sports. In my off season I swim to keep my cardio up for the upcoming track season. I have loved running ever since the fourth grade. My collegiate goal is to be able to run for a D2 or D3 school and continue my passion for running even further. I am willing to push and train myself to ensure that I can run collegiately.  I am a very hard worker and push myself to do better everyday. In the past I've had to struggle with not knowing if I am the great athlete that my parents tell me that I am. I have competed in the shadows of two  great athletes at my high school.  I came to a road block in my life thinking to myself, "maybe I'm not good enough, maybe I'll never be the athlete that I want colleges to see me as".  Then I came to a realization this year!  I realized that I AM my own athlete and I am bound to make a name for myself.  I am prepared to work hard for myself, my team and my school.  I will push myself  to become better and to run collegiately.  I look at social media and see so many amazing female athletes.  Watching them just gives me more fuel to adherer to my training schedule and continue to push myself.  What makes me different, is that I am not so different from any other collegiate athlete.   I believe that everyone who competes at the collegiate level has a deep love for their sport. I am willing to push myself because I want to better myself everyday.  I want to compete collegiately.   I want to show my passion and love for running and competing.

Thank you and God bless,

Hannah R. Wells
