Personal Statement
I did not start pole vaulting until my sophomore year of high school. Since that time, I have broken the school record! Besides the meets I went to during the 2 years I have been on the high school track team I have done one pole vaulting camp. I am hoping to do a couple of meets this summer as well. I have a gymnastics background and have played volleyball for the last 5 years. I know that 9’0 is not incredibly impressive for high school, but I have always been told I am very coachable, I learn quickly, and I am a hardworker! That has always made me stand out among other athletes. I plan on bucking down this summer to work on my strength as well as my technique. In the few practices that have happened this summer, I am already beating my marks from last year. Aside from my athletics, my academics are very strong. I am currently ranked 1st in my class going into my senior year with a G.P.A. of 4.333 out of 4. I have been a competitive athlete for forever so I know the difficulty of focusing on school work and athletics. I absolutely love pole vaulting and would love to continue at a collegiate level.
