My name is Caitlin Creech. I am a local thrower at Rivet High School in Vincennes, Indiana. I have beat my own personal record three times in two years. I have the school record with a throw of 37feet, 10inches. Over this past summer, I was invited to compete in Australia at the 2018 DownUnder Sport Competition. This was an amzing experience and it taught me so much. I started throwing in 6th grade and I had to teach myself because my old school was mainly known for sprints and long distance. Once I came to Rivet, Luke Keller coached me and made me get to where I am today. Since we practice at Vincennes Universitys track, I get to throw with college athletes all the time and they get to help me as well. I am a good candidate because I am hard working and I always like to do the extra work to improve. I also like to coach younger kids who are interested in throwing. I like to help other exceed and I like to help my team exceed. I am different from other recruits because I choose to work on my throwing anytime I get a chance. Whether it's before practice, after practice, or holidays, I am always working on my throws. I have been working hard on track, on grades and on work. My father passed away in October 2017. Since then, I have been working my butt off to help my mom support my siblings and me. If I can get a scholarship, I feel like I can help the most because that will save money for my other three siblings. My father was a correctional officer and mom is a registered nurse. In life, I would like to be a medical examiner for the FBI. I want to become a medical examiner because my great uncle was one and I want to do a combination of what my parents do. This way, I can still be in the medical field, but I can also be a part of a police team. I want to be able to help every family who has had a tragedy happen to them. I want to give them closure.
