Personal Statement

My dream and goal is competing at university level and to live the whole athlete experience. I am a very determined and responsible person capable of achieving the goals I set for myself. I've been training for the 400 event since January 2024, and in just 2 months, I've achieved going from 1:10.45 to 58.86.

I have been practicing athletics since I was 12 years old, I am currently 20. In school, I was on the athletics team for 5 years, being intercollegiate champion for 4 years in the 1500 m, 1200 m, and 800 m events. Then I started racewalking with coach Luis Chocho (coach of Jefferson Pérez, Olympic medalist from Ecuador) and began competing nationally. My coach passed away during COVID, then I started training with Johanna Ordoñez and Paquillo Fernández in the 10000 m racewalk. Due to an injury from racewalking, I had to stop, and since January 2024, I started training for the 400 m.
