Personal Statement
My name is Summer Thalya Steinsrud. I am a dedicated and hard working athlete who has experienced both the highs and lows that come with being a competetive track athlete. I know what my goals are and what it is I aim to achieve, so I am constantly pushing myself to grow stronger and faster to hopefully someday reach my goals.
I am transferring out of the University of Nevada, Reno after spending two years with The Pack. I have 3 seasons of outdoor eligibility left and 4 seasons of indoor eligibility left.
I was born in London, England to an English mother and a Norwegian father. In 2010 my family moved to Norway, where I soon developed a passion for track. My dream has always been to study in the states which has kept me motivated both academically and athletically.
Some of my most memorable track moments are from 2017 when I won the 200m at the National Youth Championships, and in 2019 when I placed second in the 400 meter hurdles at the National Junior Championships.
If I were to be so lucky as to receive the opportunity to represent your team on the renowned collegiate track circuit, I promise I would work harder than I ever have and push myself to discover and break limits I didn't even know I had. I would love to become a part of your team and have the opportunity to receive professional coaching from someone like yourself.
