Growing up, I didn’t have any interest in sports until I moved to Iowa in 2016 when I was in 5th grade. However, despite my late start in sports, I quickly adapted to everything I was getting shown the first time, giving 100% in every athletic activity being presented and taught to me. Fast forward to 7th grade, I tried track for the first time and fell in love. I automatically knew that I wanted to pursue track 24/7 and put all my time and energy into it. Sadly, I had to sit out last year due to COVID-19, however I have been working early hours in the morning to get stronger and faster, which has been paying off immensely. Of course, this is my first high school track season and I won’t always win it all, but that thought just pushes me harder and encourages me to grow into an even harder worker. I encourage myself and others, overcome obstacles that will always be in the way, and always push to get better and become faster, which is the best part of track. I hope I have explained my dedication to track enough for you to understand that I am dead set on running in college, and that won’t change any time soon. I associate my work ethic with sports with my work in the classroom as well. I am an A/B student and will continue to do great in school as well as on the track!
