Personal Statement

FUN FACT: I can hold a 20 minute plank! I hope that made you chuckle & automatically see the drive I have. I thank my determination & perseverance to know a college coach that will push me to be the best I can be is reading about me right now. My name is Kaylee Copenspire, class of 2022 student athlete, and worker to be a professional runner. I haven’t run cross country or track for as long as most, but what I have done, is work to always strive to accomplish my goals. I grew up playing club soccer, danced for 15 years at several academies, travel lacrosse, varsity swimming, volleyball, basketball & gymnastics. It all started 7th grade when I saw a girl a grade above me get #1 “Female Athlete of the Meet” at the MD overall track & field Championships for private middle schools. As soon as I saw that trophy, I knew I wanted it for myself. I didn’t let anything stop me, all 8th grade year I worked for that trophy. The day came, and out of hundreds of girls, I was announced & given the title, proved so many people wrong & most importantly, fell in love with the sport that now has me driving to always be better. I’m looking for a college to push me as I know I am capable of so much because I know if I want something, I will work to accomplish it. I am excited to contribute my outgoing & hardworking personality with a team as well as in the classroom. I am eager to earn my degree in Exercise Science. I have God by my side, I trust in Him for he has a plan for me. I know I have a path, God is just preparing me for it.
