Zaria Wilson '21 Recruiting Profile

Balancing track and field with my academics are an important goal for me to achieve once I enter college. I would like to major in biology and to be successful in both parts of my life. The move from Minnesota to Maryland allowed me to meet different people and to learn a different culture. Since the 7th grade, my track coach encouraged me to try the sport, which showed me what I am capable of. This led me to experience many opportunities including running at the 2019 Penn Relay Games (4x100 and 4x400). It also taught me to be patient for success, leadership, and have a better work ethic. I also have been awarded the coaches award and team captain in my 2019-2020 track season. Besides running track, I also am involved in Varsity Cheer at St. Charles High School. It helped me into a better leader and to push myself. I am determined I have what it takes to work hard, and I am ready to take on the challenge of running track and working on my studies.
